UK must end all complicity in Trump’s war crimes in the Middle East

Responding to President Trump’s threat to destroy the “whole civilisation” of Iran, the Stop Trump Coalition released this statement:

Trump is openly threatening to commit genocide in Iran, after he has supported and armed the ongoing genocide in Gaza and war crimes in Lebanon.

Trump and Israel’s genocidal regimes must be stopped.

The UK government is complicit in these crimes and must urgently stop the US military from using UK bases to arm and refuel aircraft conducting strikes on Iran, targeting densely populated neighbourhoods and civilian infrastructure. 

Countries across the EU, including Italy and France, have taken action. Spain has denied the US use of their airspace to conduct military action, and the UK must immediately follow their example. 

The King’s State Visit must be cancelled to ensure it is not used by Trump as a propaganda tool to normalise his out-of-control regime.

The UK must commit to upholding international law and resetting its relationship with the US. This means putting a stop to any UK participation in US-led military aggression.

As Trump and Netanyahu’s warmongering continues in clear violation of international law, it is time for governments and people across the world to oppose these crimes.
