WRITE TO YOUR MP Stay out of Trump’s war I am deeply concerned that the US is being allowed to use UK bases to launch attacks on Iran. While the prime minister claimed that this use is only ‘defensive’, the heaviest bombers in the US air force have been now allowed to land and take off from bases on the British mainland. There is nothing defensive about the US’s actions in Iran – the US is the aggressor in an illegal war of choice. Under pressure from Trump’s criticism of its two-day delay in complying with US demands, the British government has made itself an accomplice in this illegal war. Over 1,000 civilians have been killed by US-Israeli strikes. The UK must not be complicit in further death and destruction. And now, with energy prices soaring and a spike in inflation likely, we are all paying the price for Trump’s war. The UK should immediately stop aiding Trump and Israel in their attacks on Iran and the wider Middle East, and instead put on as much pressure as possible for a ceasefire and peace talks.
